If you’re like me, you learned a great deal of music appreciation from watching Warner Brothers cartoons. (Carl Stalling was a genius!). One of Warner Brothers’ best – IMO – musical cartoons was the 1957 Friz Freleng Looney Tune, Three Little Bops:

It would be too easy to take the low road and say “how typically Christian”; sure, the lyrics are fucked-up in a way that only Christians could [...] This video – from the 1941 Jorge Negrete film, ¡Ay Jalisco, No Te Rajes! is introduced as “THE GREATEST CANTINA SCENE EVER”. Great, sure, but no one gets shot and nary a chair is broken over anyone’s head, so “greatest” might be an overstatement. Poor Jane Velez-Mitchell. She’s basically the farm club version of Nancy Grace. No matter how nutty she is, an hour later, Ms. Grace will appear on the screen and make Jane seem cool, calm and collected by comparison. It’s not because she doesn’t try, though; lately, Jane Velez-Mitchell has stepped up her game in a [...] I hate to admit this, but the other day something possessed me to search YouTube for Steven Seagal videos. I really regret it, because this is what I found: I knew Steven Seagal dabbled in music, but I didn’t know that he had actually recorded stuff for public consumption.
